Kyrie Irving Says He Doesn't Care About LeBron James' Feelings About Trade

In an interview on ESPN's First Take on Monday (Sept. 18) morning, Kyrie Irving admitted that he didn't speak to LeBron James before he decided to trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics.

Stephen A. Smith asked Irving this question that everyone wanted to know. That's when the baller responded: "No. Why would I have to?" Then, Smith said that he didn't have to do that. But, Irving would have to admit that it makes his exit out of the team look personal.

When Smith asked Irving if he cared that James could have taken this move personally, the former Cavalier flat out said, "No." Irving went on: "I don't think you owe anything to another person in terms of figuring out what you want to do with your life. It's not anything personal, I'm not here to tirade anybody or to go at any particular person or the organization because I have nothing but love for Cleveland."

Making his point crystal clear, Irving closed: "I have nothing but love for the time I spent there. It's nothing about that. There comes a time where you mature as an individual, it's time to make that decision. and there is no looking back from that standpoint. There is no time to figure out how to save somebody's feelings when ultimately you have to be selfish in figuring out what you want to do."
