Drake Teaches You How To 'Toosie Slide' In Hot New Music Video

Drake just started a new dance craze with his new song and music video.

In dropping “Toosie Slide” this Friday (April 3), the Canadian rapper shoots his shot at going viral with a TikTok-worthy dance challenge. The visual finds Drake, wearing a black face mask and camo jacket, jigging and grooving along empty streets before bringing watchers inside a lavish mansion where he breaks down the steps invented by dancers Toosie, Hiii Key and Ayo & Teo.

“Gotta dance, but it’s really on some street shit/I’ma show you how to get it,” the lyricist raps, before instructing, “It go right foot up, left foot slide/Left foot up, right foot slide/Basically I’m saying either way we ’bout to slide.”

“Toosie Slide” had already gone viral hours before its release thanks to the dancers who originated the moves. According to Rolling Stone, the creators were actually meant to be featured in the final cut for the vid but those plans were apparently derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Drake hit me up and was like, ‘Yo, I need your help,'” Toosie told the outlet. “So he sends the record. It was just an idea at the time. It was just the hook and a verse. I came up with this dance.”

Toosie recalled the “God’s Plan” emcee asking if he could create the dance steps for the track, and it was a done deal from there. “So I sit down, listen to it,” he added. “Luckily, I’m at Ayo and Teo’s house with Hiii Key and all of us. We all chilling. We came up with it pretty fast. We just all pieced it together. We all contributed.”
