Several popular snacks sold in Tennessee have been recalled over the potential for causing a "serious" health issue for certain consumers.
Cal Yee Farm LLC has issued a recall for multiple products due to possible undeclared milk, soy, wheat, sesame, FD&C #6 and almonds, which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity, according to recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
Recalled products include "Tropical Trail Mix, Butter Toffee Almonds (sold under Cal Yee's or Boa Vista Orchards brands), Mango with Chili, Hot Cajun Sesame Sticks, New Orleans Hot Mix, Fruit Basket 2909 and Fruit Basket 2921" as well as its "chocolate and yogurt covered products (dark chocolate walnuts, dark chocolate raisins, dark chocolate almonds, yogurt coated almonds and dark chocolate apricots [sold under Cal Yee's or Cal Yee Farm brands])."
The products were distributed in California, Arizona, Virginia, New Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Ohio and Pennsylvania. For a full list of affected products, UPC codes and specific allergens, visit the FDA website.
Consumers with an allergy are encouraged to either toss out the products or return them for a full refund. As of time of the recall, no illnesses have been reported.
