Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are finally bringing back their beloved Verzuz battle with an epic match-up fans won't want to miss.
On Tuesday, October 8, the esteemed producers announced that Cash Money Records and No Limit Records will face off at their upcoming Verzuz event in Las Vegas. The anticipated match-up is going down at ComplexCon in Las Vegas later this month. Timbo and Swizz are billing the battle as a "celebration" of both iconic rap record labels. Of course, Verzuz will be livestreamed online, however, the exact details have not been revealed yet.
Soon after the battle was announced, Cash Money's Birdman, Juvenile, and B.G. shared the flyer along with No Limit's Master P, Silkk The Shocker, and Mia X. It's clear all the aforementioned artists will play a role in the epic melee, especially since both record labels recently celebrated three decades in Hip-Hop.
The last update fans received about Verzuz was when Timbo and Swizz announced that they signed an exclusive deal with X. Their deal with the social media platform, previously owned by Elon Musk, ensured both superproducers would maintain 100% ownership and creative control while X holds the distribution rights. It's not clear if the upcoming battle will be exclusively streamed on X, but the platform has livestreamed Verzuz in the past.
It's been over three years since Timbaland and Swizz Beatz hosted the final Verzuz battle between R&B stars Omarion and Mario. The duo launched the battle platform after they faced each other in the inaugural event in March 2020. Verzuz consisted of high-profile matches, including Boi-1da vs. Hit-Boy, Ne-Yo vs. Johnta Austin, RZA vs. DJ Premier, Erykah Badu vs. Jill Scott, Nelly vs. Ludacris, Teddy Riley vs. Babyface, Brandy vs. Monica, and the most epic battle to date, The Diplomats vs. The LOX.
The new era of Verzuz begins October 25 at ComplexCon.
