Romeo Santos Talks State of Dominican Republic, Kissing Fans + Fatherhood

The King of Bachata Romeo Santos stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning to discuss

Romeo Santos is the first Latin American artist to play Met Life Stadium which is a huge deal because of the fact that he has been to so many other stadiums he feels like this is a big moment for him as well as the latin American community.

The Bachata superstar spoke about the early days of his career coming out of The Bronx. Originally he began by singing in a church choir, stating that it was the only thing he was good at that he really loved, even citing that he played basketball and while he loved it he admitted to being not good at.

When he first was in the supergroup Aventura, the group struggled for awhile, starting out singing in restaurants. Even when they made their first album he admitted that he originally believed that as soon as they dropped their first project they would become famous which wasn't the case. Eventually the group took a break, and every member wanted to "shine on their own", Romeo added on that he wasn't even the first member to go solo.

With all of the crazy things going on in The Dominican Republic he had say "It's really f--ked up whats happening out there". He even commented on Big Papi's shooting saying that "he was probably just trying to go out and have a good time, but I hope he and other people learn from this that, if your going to be chilling out there you gotta roll with more security"
