Jonah Hill did seem to be a fan of McLovin actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Speaking with Vanity Fair, producer Judd Apatow said, "He was very caustic and attacked Jonah and did improvs insulting Jonah." Seth Rogen added, "Jonah immediately hated him. He was like, 'That was f---ing with my rhythm. I couldn't perform with that guy.'" Apatow thought Jonah disliking Mintz-Plasse was the perfect reason to cast him for the now iconic role.
